LIGHT BEER

It’s a chance for Bo Bassett to give the world a look at how he stacks up against Olympic competition and a chance for Vladimer Khinchegashvili to show the world he’s not just “one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation,” he’s still the guy to see in the RAF featherweight division.
Bassett and Khinchegashvili arrive at RAF 07 from two different eras of the sport. Khinchegashvili made his name representing Georgia on the world stage, capturing Olympic gold in 2016 after previously earning Olympic silver in 2012 and multiple World Championship medals along the way.
For nearly a decade Khinchegashvili stood among the most dangerous lightweights in wrestling, known for his explosive attacks, relentless pressure and ability to rise to the moment on the biggest stages in the sport.
His unprecedented path to the podium twice led him to toe the line with a murderer’s row that would still intimidate the most prepared of wrestlers.
Stepping into the RAF arena for the first time, he finds himself taking on one of the most talked about young wrestlers in America.
Bo Bassett has rapidly become one of the most recognizable rising stars in wrestling, dominating age-group competition and building a reputation for suffocating offense, constant motion and an ability to score in flurries that few opponents can withstand.
Where Khinchegashvili built his legacy through Olympic finals and World championship battles, Bassett has been building momentum as the face of wrestling’s next generation, carrying massive expectations every time he steps onto the mat. We’re not far from the full transition from “tomorrow’s superstar” becoming wrestling’s biggest name.
It’s a rare collision between eras at RAF 07. The battle-tested Olympic champion against the prodigy determined to prove the future has already arrived.
Built For Real American Freestyle
Bo Bassett: One of the fastest rising prospects in the history of the sport known for his relentless pace, explosive offense and ability to score in rapid succession. Bassett thrives in high tempo matches where constant attacks force opponents into uncomfortable positions.
Vladimer Khinchegashvili: Olympic Champion and multiple-time World medalist known for top-tier positioning, powerful double leg and ability to control exchanges against the best wrestlers in the world. Khinchegashvili is most dangerous when slowing the pace, capitalizing on small openings and turning experience into advantage.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Bassett’s Pace: If Bassett can force a high tempo match and create extended scrambles, as he always seems to, the young star could turn the bout into the type of chaotic exchange where his offense thrives.
Khinchegashvili’s Counter Attacks: Few wrestlers in the world have punished aggressive shooters the way Khinchegashvili has throughout his career. This could pose a problem for Bassett’s aggressive style. If Bassett overcommits on entries, the Georgian veteran’s timing and counter offense could quickly swing momentum.
Bassett’s Chain Wrestling: Similar to Spencer Lee and Yianni Diakomihalis, Bassett isn’t just dangerous on the first attack, he’s dangerous on the second, third and fourth. If he gets Khinchegashvili reacting instead of dictating, his ability to chain together attacks could overwhelm even an Olympic champion.
